Nigora Breeding Plans

So my plans are to put these breeding groups together mid to end of Oct '11 for spring '12 kids.

Tucker (black and white buck) above will go with Gia and Mia, blond does to the left.  Can't wait to see what this will produce.  Since Tucker is a F2 and the does are an F1 Nigora then they'll have F1 kids I believe.

Shane with his buck "SPIKE"

Spike -- Nigerian buck will go with Cirrus and Badger Girl at the end of OCT '11.  Right now both girls are with my Angora buck.  So if he doesn't get them bred then they can be bred by Spike for F1 Nigora kids.  Spike will also be with my four nigerian does end of Oct for reg purebred nigerian kids in spring '12.

  1. I could definitely be wrong, but I do believe Tucker's kids with F1 does would be F2. F1 bred to F1 would give you F2 offspring, and Tucker is already F2, so that would make them F2+!?

  2. I don't know for sure but I did ask one of the other Nigora breeders out west and they said the kids would be F1, but maybe they will be more F1.5. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing what coloring of kids I get.

  3. Hello Voni,
I am getting ready to breed my Nigoras for the first time, and I am a bit nervous, but mostly excited. :) This is my first time breeding goats, period, so I am quite the novice (ah!). I look forward to seeing what comes of your breeding season!

  4. I have found that the best thing to do is dive right in. This will be my first nigora to nigora breeding and I hope all goes well. Thanks for your post.
